Heroin abuse is a serious problem that can even be found in Ventura.
Heroin addiction is severe and problematic. It can have a hugely adverse effect on a person’s physical well being, his or her mental well being, and the well being of all the people around him or her. That is because a drug that is as addictive as the heroin opioid is going to turn your life into being completely focused (and only focused) on that drug. Nothing else will matter except where to get the next fix -- this is not a choice the person is making; its a compulsion led by their brains.

Even though there is some amount of heroin addiction in Ventura, it is an absolutely lovely city to visit anyway. If you haven’t been there before but it somehow feels familiar to you, it is probably because you have seen it depicted in books or movies. It was featured in Erin Brockovich, Swordfish, and Little Miss Sunshine. It was also the real version of “Madison City,” which author Erle Stanley Gardner wrote about. It also is where Julie Carobini sets her book, Chocolate Beach. There is a reason people keep setting their stories here -- it is an interesting place, to say the least.
There are lots of different methods for treating a heroin addiction. These methods might include some kind of therapy (including but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy, individual therapy, family therapy or counseling, and group therapy), some type of membership in a support group (whether an anonymous kind or otherwise), and sometimes even medication for detoxing from it. Oftentimes an inpatient treatment center can provide all of these things and more, leading to the start of a brand new life without heroin. The key is to seek treatment as fast as possible.
