Meth is a frightening drug that leads to shocking effects and can be found in Lancaster as well as in other cities.
Meth, short for methamphetamine, is a highly addictive and very harmful recreational drug that is a stimulant for the central nervous system. Once in a while it is actually used to treat obesity (since it ruins appetites) and ADHD.
The drug stems back to its discovery in the year 1893. It is not commonly used as a medicine because of its risks and the fact that there are other substitutes that will work as well and with fewer risks. It makes people feel euphoria and energy and gradually builds their tolerance and dependence on the drug.

Although there is a small subculture of meth users and addicts in Lancaster, California, it is not common to encounter this issue here. One could guess that part of the fact that it is not terribly common is because the population of Lancaster simply has plenty to do. It has festivals throughout the year, some awesome shopping centers (including The BLVD, which was finished in 2010), and the historic Western Hotel, which impressively comes from the year 1886. It is now a museum (as it has been since the year 1992).
Another thing that can be found in the city of Lancaster is some path of treatment or help for someone who is addicted to meth. There are forms of emergency treatment, such as sedation and activated charcoal that can help with someone who is too intoxicated by meth.
At the moment, the single most effective treatment that exists for “curing” a meth addiction is cognitive behavioral therapy. There is not a kind of medication that exists to “cure” meth addictions, but sometimes medications are administered to help with the symptoms of withdrawal from meth.
