Meth addiction Meth is a huge problem for those who are addicted to it or abuse it regularly. One of the big problems with meth is simply how addictive it really is ā it doesn't take much for people to become dependent on the drug. Abusing meth, short for methamphetamine, leads to symptoms including losing your appetite, making you more talkative, increasing your heart rate, and making you generally more hyperactive.
People who abuse meth for too long could lose weight, have major problems with their teeth, have their moods change, lose memory, and/or become violent and aggressive.

Chico has an interesting history. The area where the city is now was originally inhabited by Native Americans ā specifically, the Mechoopda Maidu people. General John Bidwell, who fought during the American Civil War, created a camp for his troops just outside of the city's area. It was called Camp Bidwell, and then Fort Bidwell. Towards the second half of the 19thcentury it was called Camp Chico to distinguish it from a similarly named camp, and then eventually was incorporated by Bidwell himself in 1872.
History aside, Chico is a beautiful city to visit. Nonetheless, meth addiction can be found everywhere ā even in Chico.
