Austin, TX, is a city famous for its music, cultural institutions, and strong economy. Originally known as “Waterloo”, the Texas capital city was established way back in 1839 along the Colorado river. Today it is home to some of the biggest industry names in high-tech, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. South Congress is the shopping district off Downtown Austin that features several restaurants, coffee shops, food truck stations, eccentric stores, and festival grounds. Rainey Street Historic District, once a working-class street with bungalow-style historic homes, is now the city’s nightlife district. Austin’s attitude towards marijuana has become more tolerant of late, with the City Council having passed a resolution to stop ticketing or arresting people for low level possession of the substance. But the hard truth is that marijuana, which is derived from the dried seeds, stems, flowers and leaves of the Cannabis Sativa plant, remains an addictive substance. It produces a feeling of detachment and relaxation when smoked, vaped, or consumed as edibles.
